Where Is Marble Quarried?

Marble is obtained from extensive natural areas located in many regions of Türkiye. Quarrying activities have been carried out for years in areas with suitable geological structures. The Aegean Region is one of the most well-known centers in this respect. The Afyon area has long been at the center of the marble sector due to both production volume and stone variety. In the Muğla and Denizli corridor, quarries extracting blocks of different colors and structures are also active. Stones from these regions are generally extracted as large blocks and then sent to processing facilities.

Marble production is also carried out in areas close to the Mediterranean coast. In regions around Burdur and Antalya, the open-pit quarrying method is common. Stones from these areas are known for their homogeneous appearance. In Central Anatolia, marble quarries along the Eskişehir and Konya line hold a strong position in terms of production volume.
